Death by a Thousand Cuts

After all of our Iowa Representatives ignored their constituents and decided to vote for the Big Brutal Bill, which will slash funding for the most vulnerable Iowans, we want to be sure they're haunted by their decisions. Join 50501 Iowa Coalition in Cedar Rapids on Thursday, July 17th to engage in some "Good Trouble" on behalf of the late John Lewis. We will be wearing spooky attire (ghosts, ghouls, reapers, etc.) and reminding Ashley Hinson, Chuck Grassley, and Joni Ernst what they have killed with these budget cuts. Things like Medicaid, Social Security, SNAP, the National Weather Service, FEMA, Public Schools, and the many other resources working class Americans rely on are being defunded.
We will also be directing donations at this event to the Emma Goldman Clinic in Iowa City, a leading provider and one of the few remaining reproductive health care centers in our State.
Come join us and bring a friend, neighbor, or ghost to ensure that our elected representatives don't have a moment of peace until we have a voice in our government.
We'll be meeting outside the Federal Building in downtown Cedar Rapids at 4:30 PM (corner of 8th Ave SE & 2nd St SE). We will have a die in near the building, a rally along the street, tombstones, chalk outlines and lots of spirit! All are welcome and costumes are encouraged, but not required.
